Goals for 2024

Our distribution network aims to exceed customer expectations. With proper service management we try to understand the needs, set clear expectations and consistently deliver on promises.

Smooth and secure roll-out of Compass IFS. In the Cluster as a whole, we are aiming to have eight Lely Centers on IFS by the end of this year.

Further developing our distribution channel in line with our market strategy and Route25. To ensure a consistent customer experience, boosting adoption across Poland.

Challenges

Global forecasts for milk consumption indicate that demand for milk and dairy products will continue to grow. Milk producers nevertheless face many challenges. The situation for milk producers in Poland, as in other European countries, is difficult. Take, for example, last year’s high milk price, which began to fall dramatically from January 2023.

In addition, the number of dairy cows in Poland has shown a downward trend for many years. By the end of 2022, the total herd was 2,037 million cows; in 2012, it was 2,346 million. The decline in cow numbers has been offset by constantly increasing milk yields. Small farms changed their profile or stopped farming, giving larger farms space to extend.

Facts

  • Poland is one of the largest milk producers in the European Union, after Germany, the Netherlands and France

  • In total, more than 2,435 Lely products are supported in Poland. Since 2009, over 370 Junos and almost 700 Discoveries have been installed

  • Animal welfare is increasing, so milk production per cow is growing

Life at Cluster North East

About Poland

In 2009, Lely's operation in the Polish market began to thrive. At that time, the concept of automatic milking was still quite exotic. It was not yet known among farmers. So, for the young and dedicated team in Poland, the ambition was to spread Lely solutions throughout the country.

And they were successful, because within a year Dariusz Kołtuniak, a valued customer, installed the first Lely Astronaut A3 Next. The robot is still in use today and Dariusz is even considering the next generation.

Cluster North East has put a lot of energy into professionalising the service network. Providing the best technical support is fundamental. The four Polish Lely Centers are therefore looking forward to the implementation of Compass IFS, to take their services to the next level!
