It is often said, and proven very true, but Lely is at its best in challenging times, because we are one company.

One family, One Lely.

IT is still working on outstanding points to bring us back to where we were. But we can not return to ‘business as usual’; we will need to go further to strengthen our security standards. Based on the evaluation shared with the Board, the team has been reinforced to accelerate our IT-plan to future-proof, optimise and secure our business environment. That is also why we now use 2 factor authentication and Identity & Access management. And we urge you to run your updates when asked.

We ask for everyone's diligence and commitment to prevent future IT attacks where possible. There will always be a real chance that hackers will make new attempts to enter our business.

Hackers are highly innovative, so we have to stay alert. All of us. In everything we do.

We will continue to drive this next step in security as One Lely, and we will come out of this together – future-proof. We are extremely impressed by everyone's efforts and dedication during this period, and count on your understanding for all upcoming security updates that need your support.

Thank you, for all your hard work!

On behalf of the Board,

On the same day, we set up an effective crisis team to address this threat. Thanks to the enormously dedicated efforts and sometimes creativity of many colleagues, we managed to keep our business going. We were able to continue to answer critical questions from our customers, to make sure that their business processes could continue.

We are really grateful for that.

The crisis demanded a lot from us. The IT team worked almost day and night during the first three weeks to get applications and systems up and running again. The colleagues in the factory worked hard to eliminate the production backlog. Lely Centres had to catch up with service calls from the customers.

As you all know, an intrusion was detected in our IT business environment in August. This intrusion disrupted almost all our applications and therefore business processes. Lely Centres could no longer be reached by e-mail or telephone, processing orders and providing service and maintenance wasn’t possible, we had no overview of our stock, the factory was at a standstill, and so on... Lots of colleagues weren’t able to do their job anymore and the consequences were serious for almost everyone.

We’re in this together
