Plan for the weekend
It’s Friday and tomorrow I’m going hiking! I love trekking, running and biking in the mountains. It’s the best way to relax and discover new places.
Tomorrow, my friends and I have a challenging walk with snowshoes. I have to prepare the backpack and go to bed soon because tomorrow the alarm will wake me up early!
20:00
Working remotely
In the afternoon, I do not have any other duties on the farms, so I can check and fix any issues from my PC in the office.
This is not my week of being on call, but if there is an emergency, I am ready to help my colleagues. Sometimes I have to tidy up the warehouse and arrange all the products we have.
16:00
Love animals
The second visit is to a unit in the north of Milan, so I have time to talk with my colleague Erik. He is 19 years old and it is nice to see how happy he is to learn a new job and I am proud to teach him.
This farm has 100 Swiss Brown cows. Before joining Lely, I milked cows for 10 years. I love animals and I’m happy to see that with our milking solution, cows are more relaxed and happier.
We have to fix the Collector’s route in the farm. Let’s go!
11:00
First farm
The first visit is to a farm not so far from our Lely Center in Colturano, in the south of Milan. This is a farmer who installed an Astronaut A3 a few years ago and he upgraded to two A5 robots. It is the first farm I visited three years ago when I started working with Lely. I remember it was a sunny day with some snow on the fields.
The problem is very simple to fix and after just 30 minutes we are ready to head off to the next farm.
08:30
Start the day well
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I really like to start my workday with a croissant, orange juice and, as a good Italian, with an espresso! For technicians, it is important to have enough energy to work all day.
When I arrive in the office, we have a quick daily briefing with the rest of the team to understand where other colleagues are going, and who is with me during the day.
Before driving them to the first farm, I have another coffee!! :D Then our day can start!
06:45
Curious what your colleagues are doing? In this section, one of your colleagues takes you through his or her working day. This time, service technician Andrea Belvedere shows you how varied and dynamic his day is. Never a dull moment!
