This year, at one of our test farms, the Lely Exos system fed more than two million kilogrammes of fresh grass to its 300 cows. Although rainfall has been fairly low during summer in the Netherlands, the team managed to take several cuts from the farm’s 50 hectares of grassland. Quick regrowth, cutting at the right time and making the most of the extended grass growing season, were all major factors in reaching this impressive amount of fresh grass during this season.
